will china collapse?

China right now has its economy booming, but has slowed down lately, was this growth sustainable, or will it eventually simmer back down to a lower level?

Economically, probably not, until America, China doesn't need the United States consumer to consume.

Politically, communism will eventually collapse and succumb to some form of Democracy.

You and I can probably agree that Chinas economy is based on its ability to manufacture goods at extremely cheap prices, not on anything else.

Now here's my argument: they will not be able to continue supporting this economy. I say this because of their single child law, which is causing its demographic to change from one of the best, to worst. This will and already has started to increase the wages of its workers, and will continue untill they reach the projected 400 million retirees. This takes away China's advantage, and will cause another undeveloped nation with cheap labour to rise. This is already happening as they are struggling to find enough workers to work the factories, China is actually going to have a labour shortage.

China also does not have the inventing prowess to continue growing without this manufactureing miracle. They don't invent anything, they may lead in high-tech exports but those are ideas from another country, not their own,all they do is build it. There economy and society is not capable of growth without cheap labour

Simply not true.

First you run into the problem of the definition of innovation.

Taking one idea and transforming it into another asks the questions how much farther from the original concept must the innovation be to be considered an innovation?

Second, As for a list of recent creations besides manufacturing, they include:

Innovations in military tech,

social networks like Wechat,

Computer and software innovation,

and even new ways to combat pollution:

Eco-Friendly Fireworks

So please provide proof and try to back up your claims

The West have always cried "China will collapse" ever since it's birth in 1949. Decades later, China is still alive in the 21st century. There's no reason for China to suddenly collapse now.

You mean one of the oldest civilizations in the world? A country that's been sovereign since 221 B.C.?

Depends what you mean by collapse I suppose, everthing collapses eventually.

but that would not be something I'd be willing to bet on at this second.

With a huge retired population iminent, leading to higher wages for factory workers and a variety of other reasons, it is not possible for China to maintain its superpower status.

In American standards it will still be extremely powerful, economically, socially, and politically. However labor costs have risen, the housing bubble in beginning to burst, exports are being lowered, imports are rising, and no one really needs as much natural resources- particularly copper- that China seems to have an obsession in hoarding. Oh, and the people themselves are having issues with the Communism, harsher punishments, and the paranoia of the supposedly omnipotent government.

The people there are not having problems with the Communism.

They are having problems with the

Authoritarian Capitalism.

Please free yourself from the rigidness that free market can't be compatible with Authoritarianism (It can and has)

and democracy automatically means freedom for all. (It does not necessarily.)

Example 3 go out to eat, 2 eat, 1 pays the bill.

OR WORSE! the fat one eats all the food while the other 2 pay!

Whichever party you subscribe to, you can agree to this analogy.
