I agree with this claim. The government never stops working for the people and keeping them informed along with providing important assistance. The balance of taxes enables the government to do so. I also agree that the government is important to give us emergency relief funds for disasters such as this hurricane. I would also like to add to your second point about fighting for power. If there were no rules, again, there would be no balance/order.

I believe that we should live under a government. To start with, I believe that there would be a total anarchy and disorder without one. For example, there would be no laws meaning people would be able to do as they please. Laws and punishment that is established by government is supposed to be a deterrent for bad behavior. What would be the incentive to go to work and contribute to society? Would there be currency without the government? Without currency we'd be in "simpler" times as in we'd be a hunter/gatherer society. There would be no protection for anyone in the nation due to not having to pay taxes (to fund a military). The government is involved with other countries and they attempt to keep the peace. Another argument is the support for the people by the government. There are systems in place for healthcare, disability, and even programs like welfare for when someone is hurt or unable to work.
