I would prefer to live without a government rather than under a government. One reason I am for this is because governments can coerce its citizens. Taxation, for example, is an involuntary transaction where citizens are forced to pay, with a threat of jail time, for what a government deems necessary. If whatever that is being funded by these taxes was worthy enough to its taxpayers, there wouldn't be a need for these taxes to be mandatory because its citizens could voluntarily pay for these utilities if it were in their best interests. A second reason I would prefer to live without a government is that governments limit freedoms. Governments around the world limit person freedoms by controlling its citizens or by spying on them. Without a government, there would not be a centralized power that could enforce rules that limit personal freedoms and privacy onto the populace. Another positive of living without a government is that there would be no wars caused by government. Furthermore, there would not be a single authority to declare war against as society would be made up of separate private properties. Also without government, people could not be forced to aid in any war effort if they do not choose, unlike many countries today which have some sort of draft or mandatory military service. In conclusion, I would prefer to live without a government because governments are coercive, infringe on personal freedoms, and are responsible for wars that can force involuntary participation of its citizens.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
