Im Amelia from 2e4. I disagree with this statement. In my opinion, I feel that classroom debating is much more interesting and exciting than just online debating.

Online debating does not give you that thrill that you get during classroom debating. In classroom debates, there are time limits and floor rebuttals. Plus, the rebuttals just come straight at you. There is less time to think, that gives you that pressure and true fun of debating.

In online debating, you will have to wait for other people to rebutt or post their main point before you can rebutt their points. Wouldn't it be really slow if the debators have to constantly wait for new argument points? I believe so.

If you have a lot to say, it might seem like a hassle to type out the whole thing on online debates. Classroom debates will allow you to just say out your points and rebuttals in speech, which is so much more convenient. Some people might think that online debating gives you more time to think about how to rebutt. Some may open other windows and research on the topic. If a person is really interested in knowing what a debate is like. I wouls strongly suggest that he or she try out classroom debating. It is much more exciting with the motivation from the floor, the cheering and the rebuttals that shoot at you like arrows. So much more interesting than just sitting in front of the computer, writing your main point and rebuttal, then waiting for others to rebutt back. Just how many times would you have to refresh the page?

Online debating should be a stepping stone towards "real" debates, it provides a taste of what a debate is like. However, the real thing would be to experience it first hand. With the time limits, fast rebuttals and floor rebuttals.

Hence, I come to my conclusion. Classroom debating is more interesting than online debating. The real experience comes together with debating face to face with the preposition or opposition!
