People expect to much from medical science when we believe that scientific fact can take the place of moral values. For instance, the issue of legalising medical marijuana. On one hand, it has therapeutic effects that can aid medical issues. With the negative externalities that marijuana bring in today's society, many governments maintain that it should be illegal, despite pressure from some to legalise it for medical use. On one hand, it has therapeutic effects that can aid medical issues. On the other hand, the need for it is questioned by majority of the world - will people actually use it treat their ailments or use this an excuse to simply enjoy the high of consuming marijuana?
