According to Revelation, the last book of the Bible, world peace proceeds the end of the world. I believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. It is "His"story of salvation. It is prophesied in Revelation that Jesus will reign as King on earth for 1,000 years in a world of perfect piece. Then, Satan and sin return. There will be a final battle between good and evil. Good will prevail. The world will then be destroyed.

Point taken! It is preposterous to expect men to be in charge of birth control instead of women. Family planning is a shared responsibility. It is however, a great option for both of the sexes, provided it is proved safe and has minimal side effects. It also gives men more personal control in protecting themselves from unwanted pregnancies.

Yes, my family and I will be watching the opening Olympic ceremonies. It's healthy to suspend political differences and come together for one common purpose as a human race. Besides, it's exciting to see how these ceremonies will compare to others. We will be watching out of nostalgia, tradition, curiosity about China, hope in a peaceful world, and enthusiasm in America and her finest athletes.

I would be thrilled if men could and would take a contraceptive pill, as long as it is proved safe and there are no significant side effects. I do not, however, believe this pill should encourage men to carry a greater portion of responsibility for birth control. Family planning is a shared responsibility. This option is a welcomed advancement for women who are tired of shouldering the birth control burden alone, and gives men another, possibly more effective, option of protecting themselves from fathering any unwanted children. The male contraceptive pill has real potential benefits for men and women!

You are being too literal and overly dramatic about the use of the word instead. For goodness sake, debate the heart of the issue!

All of creation testifies that God exists and acts each and every day. The sun rises and sets, babies are given the breath of life, there are a seemingly limitless number of species with a seemingly limitless number of unique behaviors, each human being is different down to his thumbprint, the ocean only comes just so far, etc. You are a thinking, feeling sole that woke up this morning because God is alive and active.

There is a big difference between free will and predestination. God is all-knowing, but because He created us with free will, He did not predetermine our choices. Knowing what we will do, is not the same as choosing what we will do God "knows" we will sin, so He lovingly offers us the choice to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. *Choosing" sin causes pain and suffering. Therefore, God is all- loving, God is all-knowing, and sin exists in the world.

The U.S. Federal Government currently raises more than enough revenue, through taxes, to end national debt and create a surplus. Merkley's plan to raise taxes may be honest, but it is not fiscally responsible. It is in the best interest of Oregon to elect a Senator who works responsibly within budget means, rather than increasing taxes. Our government needs to develop a disciplined budget based on realistic funding. A budget formulated to appease every constituent and win votes, is no budget. It is a pay off! We need financial "tough love" in Congress.

I love risk and adventure, but no, I would not live permanently on the moon at this time. I lavish my earthly creature comforts and thrive on knowing what to expect. Moon life would be difficult, limited, lonely, dark and suffocating. Although I know full well that I am in control of absolutely nothing in my daily life on earth, at least I can get home in a well-tested three hour Continental plane flight!
