Here is the thing about the music industry Div, no one cares if you really have talent, just a gimmick. She is extremely talented. But instead of just singing and playing piano, she feels that she needs to draw attention to herself with a gimmick. True talents can be in the industry for 40-50 years because they love the basics of songwriting and being on stage with a mic and piano. Gimmicks don't last. Music does.

It will never happen. Every dictatorship, past and present, has had one thing in common.........media control. The citizens of these dictatorships are unaware of how bad things are at the top, because the top does not let the masses see or hear the truth. In independent, media-savvy countries like the U.S. and G.B., there will ALWAYS be someone willing to report on the smallest thing the current establishment is doing, right or wrong. No stone unturned, all secrets revealed.

Without willfully offending anyone who believes that they might have a psychological disorder, it is not real. The psychological establishment has taken human behaviors that cannot be physically (neurologically) or sociologically explained and turned them into the symptoms of some new disorder that their partners in the pharmaceutical world create a pill to alleviate these symptoms of, because, of course, the disorder is incurable (just manageable).

This is not some grand conspiracy theory. Just look up the list of disorders in the DSMiV, and I bet that you can find a pharmaceutical company that has created a pill to alleviate the symptoms (not cure the cause) of most of the listed disorders.

First let me say that I am slowly getting the impression that this is a site for kids and young adults. Some of the answers, and definitely a lot of the spelling and grammar indicate as much. So I realize now that I must take some of these debates with a grain of salt.

Having said that, this is what I say to people when they say that a particular President was the worst. In your adult life assess your economic standing under every President. Figure out which negative economic phases are attributed to yourself and which ones were caused by government forces. Of the ones caused by government forces, separate those caused by your state, and the federal government. Of the one(s) caused by the federal government, how many were caused by direct government legislation (do your thorough research)?

I can continue on, because of a two house congress, and stubborn party affiliations, but I am guessing, that most of the bad stuff in your life is YOUR own fault, not the fault of federal laws. Human beings, especially in America, love to point fingers and blame every one else for our screw ups. Your life is screwed up and the President (whose only been in office for 3 years) is the cause?

Reassess when your life began to plummet, I think you will find that it goes back farther than 3 years.

Sorry to say, but you are wrong (at least half wrong). I agree that the DP is meant to exact an eye for an eye punishment, but it was also always meant as a deterrent. Why do you think that the Romans would hang criminals from a cross in a PUBLIC square? Or why there are public beheadings and canings in the middle east? Countries that conduct capital punishments in private are defeating the purpose. I am not suggesting hangings on national t.v., but countries that have swift and sure executions have lower homicide rates.

I am a centrist, moderate, social libertarian. Wow! Whatever that means.

In Colorado (don't quote me) in 2008 there was an election with "None of the above" on the ballot. We need to stop voting for parties and political agendas. ALL federal politicians make six figures and have the country's best healthcare coverage. Yet, they argue over what crumbs to give the masses.

It is ridiculous that members of either party vote to elect someone to office. Then allow them to give themselves a six figure salary. The best medical care. Then they vote to give you nothing, rather than to concede to the other side to give you a little something. We struggle, they get rich. We argue on their behalf, they get rich. We go to war on their behalf, THEY GET RICH.

Gringrich. Mind you, I am a 42 Yo black male (Independent). I think Newt has lived the most interesting life of all of them, and would probably have stories that would not put me to sleep. Romney and Santorum would bore me. Paul's stories would undoubtedly have me continuously saying, "Whaaaaaat? Obama seems interesting, but too contrived.

People are educated everyday on the dangers of drinking and driving, and still people drink and drive. I understand the premise of educating the young mind, but no amount of classroom marriage education will curb divorce. I can teach you how to build an engine, but how can I teach you about the ebb and flow of the emotional bliss and stress of marriage? Marriage is about how you feel, not lessons and guidelines.

Why is it still necessary if it has been effective? Because it is NOT deterring anyone. Human beings glorify violence and death, in video games and movies. No one sees a murderer get convicted, sentenced to death, appeal for 12 years before they die, then decides to not commit any crimes because the consequences are just too dire. As long as there are loop holes in the system, and the current appeals process can be exploited, no one fears the death penalty.
