No, because the best definition of "good" is "that which fulfills God's will", and God does not want people to murder other people. Something that God does not wish cannot be in the best interest of anybody, as we are all part of His creation, and He is all-knowing and all-loving. On the other hand, as both our reasoning and goodness are limited, we cannot rely on them to make decisions that we positively know to be against God's Commandments.
Therefore a Christian should neither do it nor wish it to happen, even if it implied that the child would no longer be at risk of going to hell instead of heaven.

Nothing new under the sun. Christians engaging themselves in a ridiculous 'tour de force' to avoid giving up their faith because it is emotionally too painful for them.
The fact is that both the old and new testament are very clear regarding homosexuality. Or at least regarding sexual acts between members of the same sex, which is undoubtedly part of what we understand as 'homosexuality'.
