You assume religion and science are two completely different worlds. While it's true science has shed light on so many mysteries that used to be explained by faith, that fact that religion doesn't consider science and is "baseless" is very ignorant. Especially since the definition of "science" can be fairly safely agreed upon, whereas the definition of "religion" is a something more abstract. I'm not even implying semantics, but the ideology and logic behind each religion. When people fail to consider opposing viewpoints and simply start debating so they can hear themselves "sound smart" or make fun of people, then you lose a very important part about discussion... listening.

If anyone is really interested, here are some articles written by Einstein on the subject.

I believe in God. I also believe the universe is a system, since this isn't the discussion topic I will stop here, but I think you get what I'm saying.

It's not an opinion when you state it as fact.

Also, simple Opinions are worthless, Educated Opinions however have merit in a real debate... It is my opinion that if you disagree with me, you must be retarded. See, sounds pretty ridiculous.

Well then I bet you think performing erotic engagements with a significant other also impairs your ability to focus... I ask you sir, why then did we start driving in the first place?

roadtrip with a hummer... double entendre haha.

To Lexfor:

What about if someone wanted to marry their sister (over 18), or their Mom for that matter. hell what about if someone wants to marry both their sister AND their mom... assuming they are all deeply in love. Thats pretty messed up, but according to your logic LET THEM MARRY! ... I'm not saying i even disagree with gay marriage. I'm just saying people who claim "Our love is the same as your love and us getting married is the same thing" should really stop being dumb. Or maybe I'm dumb and families should be able to marry. Just a thought.

to Eldavidos:

How can you bring up that cult... dude forcing people to marry isn't legal. Here let me be more clear. "Surely more harm is done murdering a whole truck full of children than in letting those that want to marry someone of the same sex get married." Sounds dumb doesn't it...

There is so much knowledge that Humans are not aware of, and may never be. Consider quantum physics, much of which is defined by theory. Black holes themselves can be explained only to the point of what causes them and within the limits of the event horizon. It is considered a singularity in the universe in which our laws of physics no longer apply, it is IMPOSSIBLE to have any idea, on any level what happens inside a black hole at "the singularity". With this considered, how can we assume your "explanation" on how the brain works could be applied there, or that there aren't other such singularities that exist in the universe. Now I'm not saying when you die you get sucked into a black hole, it's simply that physics as we know it cannot explain "The Universe". Its simply a definition of how things work based on what we know. The numbers and values we have attached to gravity, mass, ect, and the way nerves and electrons behave in the body/brain is nothing more then a label, or a way to explain why things happen the way they do.

Now if your going to say "when you die, nothing substantial occurs and your bound by our physical laws", that wouldn't be ridiculous to assume. But to state scientific principles would be applicable to an "afterlife" such as heaven and hell, would be. The fact is IF you assume a spiritual afterlife, THEN the notion of humans getting our memories back, super strength, a lame leg was healed, whatever you wish to assume could happen, could happen. The afterlife has never been physically studied, we have no scientific restriction or conclusion about the afterlife, and no proof of a soul. Do I believe in the afterlife... Yes, Do I get scared that I could be wrong... Yes. Still, if the brain dies, that is no proof that some sort of a soul that is above the physical restrictions of our reality could carry my personality, memories, and all facets of my spiritual body to another plane or dimension however you choose to see it.

And your logic on "Will" and what motivates people can hardly be taken as fact. It has been debated by some of the greatest philosophers in human history like Nietzsche's will to power, or Schopenhauer's will to live/reproduce. But thats another argument.

Why are "WE" (haha) still arguing the semantics? It's obvious what the question is.

I feel the opposite is true. I feel a lack of hierarchy adds complication to the layout. It's pretty functional don't get me wrong. Freaking cool site, but I mean you have all this opportunity to explore hierarchy and color (Brand = two colors, blue/orange, Arguments has 2 choices...). They even dabbled in it a little with the "add argument" buttons above. The grid structure of the layout seems mildly confusing as well. For instance, the vertical alignments of Usernames with their respective Arguments could match up more uniquely to aid in clarity. Or if the leading (space between lines of text) wasn't so consistent, each "Argument" might be better framed visually, without the addition of graphics or color. Obviously, this is not gospel or some fantastic soultion, I just think lack of color COULD BE one of a few ideas on improving clarity and functionality of the site.

I own a $2000 Mac, and a $1400 PC. I am a Digital Designer, Avid Gamer and mild Computer Programmer (I build computers, write basic programs etc.). I feel well versed in both Operating Systems, but must admit I have a sweet side in my heart for Mac. Don't get me wrong I love PCs, its just a matter of practicality for me which decides what I use. I use my PC for what it does best. It's got twice the power of my Mac for much less money, so for 3D rendering and Motion Graphics I would say PC hands down takes the cake (As well as gaming but thats obvious). Also since it is a tower, I can easily upgrade one part at a time keeping my computer on the fresh side of technology. On the other hand I love the "Mac World" and how nicely the OS is synced with other Mac applications and hardware. I think Vista tried, but Leopard just blows it out of the water in terms of a more user friendly interface and ease of compatibility. I forgot how much of a pain in the ass installing and configuring drivers could be. Also the way Mac handles graphics and the stability of the OS makes photoshop and Illustrator work a little more efficient (google it if you don't know why yet... stability, Unix, software the whole shabang). So to get to the point. IF... macs ever decide to become more affordable then I could see myself running solely the Macintosh platform. But as long as PCs are the only truly customizable/cheap alternative, I would say they will continue to dominate the market. Macs are only better if you can utilize the benefits... which some people would not. There is more to touch on but I'm bored of writing. That'll do.
