I have to agree that all able bodied people back then were part of the militia. That's true. But it also shows that the militia was really a concept relegated to what was back then. Nowadays, random people aren't part of militias, we have a national defense now. So why do we still hold on to the notion that gun rights are separate from the right of militia. If militias don't really exist anymore, than why should the right to guns?
The second amendment never actually promised people guns. Back in those times the people meant a whole of things. And reading it, you can tell by the "people" they meant that the states militia as the "peoples" faction of defense. This meaning is also supported by the militia acts, which clearly talk about militias and don't go into detail about guns and peoples rights to them. If it really was a right, wound't the founding fathers have wanted to describe who can an can't own guns, or what they could be used for and what they couldn't? just that statement alone doesn't make sense for such a potentially dangerous tool. Its like if you told everyone in your country they could breed killer whales, without regulating how much and who does get to.
You make a lot of sharp and hard to argue points in this argument. your right abortion is killing something that could be something amazing. But to be honest, it's just not always logical to have a baby, even dispute the rape angle. I think its important to recognize that people sometimes aren't even capable of giving the child that they probably want to have deep down, a good and caring life. Some people don't have the time, money, or resources to spend on a child. It's not always about what morally, most people would probably agree with if the world was fair, and everybody gets equal chance to take care of their baby. Abortion is horrible for both the baby and the mom. No woman finds joy in having an abortion.
I think it should be legal. Choice is always fundamental to the rights and freedoms of others. while i do understand that maybe sometimes its right to have a baby, i think that it's also fair to expect that many more women have genuinely good reasons for not having their baby, and understand the consequences of going through with an abortion. I also think its more important to address the factors causing people to need abortions to be an option, and in order to outlaw abortion, we first need to rule out factors like money, housing, food, and education and stability that alot of people don't have when having their baby.
MC Donald all day. Although taco bell has beef, they also have a lot more Chicken stuff on their menu. chicken spoils faster than beef. so naturally the place with more beef on the menu would smell less like dog dodo. they also have more cheap food, so more people would eat their burgers giving you a softer cushion to awim in
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
