Dylaine & Jee Hoon: Previously, the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) had set margins to limit the production of oil. However, Kuwait (as well as UAE) refused to comply with their regulations and over-produced their oil, causing the price of oil to drop significantly. Because Iraq relied primarily on oil to support their economy, when the oil prices dropped, their economy was heavily affected. Hence, this caused Iraq's financial stability to drop. Hence, Iraq decided to attack Kuwait to stop Kuwait from producing too much oil so as to defend their economy.

Communicating on social media is not as effective as communicating face to face. By communicating face-to-face, one is able to understand the other person better as we can observe their body language and appearances, instead of chatting online, where the only thing you can use to understand others better is by how they communicate with you.

I agree. Social media has caused netizens nowadays to spend more time online, to the extent that we spend a huge amount of time in social media. The more time spent using these platforms, the less time we have to do other tasks like interacting with friends and family.

I accuse Mr Harry Truman guilty of massive destruction not justified by military necessity. The huge devastation and loss of the lives of the innocent people in Hiroshima was something that could not ever be considered a factor of military necessity, as firstly, it could have been avoided had the people been given the opportunity to move somewhere else temporarily, and secondly, no help was given to the severely injured citizens of Hiroshima by the Americans after the crisis. This merciless act caused the death of loved ones and friends, and the disfiguration of a small number of people who happened to live through the ordeal, and thus is an act of massive destruction, not military necessity.

I accuse Mr Harry Truman guilty of massive destruction not justified by military necessity. Mr Harry Truman made the decision to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, instead of his own country, America. Military necessity is the principle whereby an organisation, or someone, has the right to apply any measures which are required to conclude a successful military operation, and does not go against the laws of war. This would definitely be approved of in America, but another country would not be applicable, as it would not want any harm to come to its fellow citizens. Therefore, the bomb dropped on Hiroshima would not be classified as military necessity, but massive destruction, as Mr Harry Truman was not given the permission of the Japanese emperor.
