People are not conscious of their physical wellbeing only to a certain extent. This is because in some cases where medical science is not beneficial for them, people lose hope and do not expect much. There is a limitation to how much a person can expect from medical science. This limitation depends on every person's situation. For example, a person fighting cancer may have to wait for a long time before getting any organ transplant. However he can pass away during this process no matter how advanced medical science is. This is because in the current modern world, the cure for cancer is still not found. Furthermore, people suffering from diabetes have to ensure they have a healthy lifestyle so they do not suffer severe medical conditions like kidney failure or eye problems. Hence saying that people expect too much from medical science and hence do not live a healthy lifestyle maybe a generalised statement.

People do not expect too much since there are some who are still worried and doubtful towards the effects of medical science. For example, with the help of medical science we are able to produce genetically modified food. However there are many who prefer organic food items since they do not want their body to intake the chemicals scientist insert into food. GM food however helps to decrease the work load on farmers and hence decreases human effort. Farmers rely on GM food to increase their outputs at a faster rate compared to manually producing the goods. However, people should not rely on producing and consuming GM food too much as it can be harmful to their bodies due to the foreign chemical intake. Therefore I believe that people should not expect too much from medical sciences.

In this increasingly commercial world, people are more attracted towards shows that contain engagement and entertainment. It is very rare to see families watching educational programmes for long periods of time. Although there are educational shows on the TV, many are unable to hold onto the attention of their audience. For example, National Geography Channel shows many educational videos about animal life or documentaries. However these shows are very long and hence the interest of the audience dies down halfway through the show. In contrast, shows played on TV for entertainment purposes tries to engage the audience and hence people continue watching their programme. For example, chinese/korean dramas that are played on TVs provide entertainment for housewives/families who stay at home on weekdays. They watch the programme as it has an interesting plot that drags them in. Therefore, in this modern world, people watch television mostly for entertainment compared to educational purposes.
