God has a record of doing things himself. He caused the floods. He created humans. He performs miracles. He tends to do things directly with his own two divine hands. Why did he tell the men what to do when writing it? Why couldn't he have written the bible himself, and given it to mortal men?

I would not worship him any more than I would worship David Cameron or Obama. The only difference is between God and our world leaders is that God (if he was real) is totally malicious and corrupt (what kind of person floods the lands to kill all but his favorites?). And if God was a good man, he would have created us to be free.

God didn't write the bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John did; the bible is the word of the Gospels.

I mean: has he ever told specifically YOU how great heaven is? Or even anyone you know?

What kind of a designer would have designed cordyceps? Or parasitic larvae? Or terminal illnesses? Or pain, death and starvation? Or an ecosystem based on hungry animals murdering each other to survive? If they were the product of an intelligent designer, you would not find me worshiping them...

Well I guess that makes Archimedes our intelligent-designer then :)
