When it comes to comic books I'm going to have to go with DC. I grew up my entire childhood as a Marvel boy and couldnt stand DC. BUt now that I'm older and have a much better understanding of the stories and I'm in touch with the art I'd say DC blows marvel away. Really old Marvel had much better artwork than DC but at some point over time marvels artwork started seeming lazy and childish and DC matured in new fantastic way. Since early 2000's DC's stories have improved also making them better than Marvel. As long as geoff Johns is in DC I dont think Marvel will be half as good. Marvel is good for little kids but as an 18 year old I will have to say DC is much more appealing to people of my age and older.
If you look into video games like Halo and Final fantasy there is clearly art. People pay hundreds of dollars just to hear the final fantasy music played live on a stage. The game Little Big Planet allows people to create their own world through their imagination. The world of Rapture in Bioshock is amazing and very philosophical and the ideas behind the whole game could be argued in real life and the score to the game is fantastic. Heavy Rain is another very artistic game, its one of the most suspenseful things I've ever experienced and is very similar to a well directed film where you make the choices.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
