"Technically free pornography". Well here are the definitions of pornography:

1: the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement

2: material (as books or a photograph) that depicts erotic behavior and is intended to cause sexual excitement

3: the depiction of acts in a sensational manner so as to arouse a quick intense emotional reaction

I don't see how nudity falls under any of those definitions. I am Canadian and live in Southern Ontario. We have summers that reach up to 35° C. Nudity is an option from May through to October. We invented these things called resources such as electricity and natural gas. They allow us to have heated buildings with indoor pools that allow people in the Frozen North swim in the Winter. Imagine that. The fact that you are Catholic should have no bearing on you point of view regarding nudity. The Christian faith nor the bible say anything about the nude body being obscene or requiring "protection".

Nudity is the natural state of the human body. Society, in general has a phobia about the nude human body and all too often mistakenly relates simple nudity to pornography. It is natural. I know others will argue that 'sex is natural' or 'defecating is natural' and they wouldn't want to see that in public. I agree that both sex and defecating are natural. The difference is that nudity is simply the state of existing it is not an action where as having sex or defecating are actions that people would be offended by.
