I agree with Yuen Siong.

Debating can help us to hone our public speaking skills as well as our thinking skills as we have to think very quickly of rebuttalson the spot and say it out. Whereas in online debates, we are only typing out our replies and we have quite a long time to think about our rebuttals as we usually do not have to reply on the spot.

You say that we cannot show videos or pictures in class but that is not true. We can bring pictures and videos, in our thumbdrives, to the class and show them on the teacher's laptop.
