I support animal testing, but only multiple choice questions. Essay questions are cruel.
It annoys me when you yanks think that England/English and Britain/British are interchangeable.
Who said they were interchangeable?
I wouldn't think so, just checking. As for fake field goals on first and goal, when would that make sense? If there's one second left in the game and you're down by 2, a field goal would certainly be reasonable. But could you justify faking a field goal?
Do you call women and babies Englishmen? Also, is "Brit" offensive?
It's certainly more black and white than most debates, but it still allows for discussion. For example, is the United States of Columbia a real country? There can be speculation while we're trying to figure out what the answer is. And then there can be reflection about how people like or dislike what the answer turns out to be. If there's no room for discussion, I don't see why a perspectives debate would be any better.
Yes, I've noticed the phone thing too. I find these things distracting, and it reminds me that these are just actors doing a job. Why do they want to break the illusion?
I also don't know why this debate is in versus format. Either there are other countries, or there are not.
Yes, hence the two sides, yes or no. Which do you think it is?
