This "debate" was settled in 1859. The egg came first. Reptiles hatched out of eggs before there were any birds, and then laid eggs, and so on. Reptiles evolved into birds (over many generations) and chickens are evolved birds. Therefore there were eggs millennia before there were chickens.
(But Meghan's argument that one view "just seems fitting" is not a good way of establishing the truth of anything.)
Circumcision is a surgical procedure with real harm and risks, up to and including death. Adverse outcomes often go underreported, because circumcision is supposed to make the penis "maintenance free". They include skin bridges, too much skin removed, excessive scarring, skin tags, suture holes, uneven cutting, and partial or total severing of the glans. The inevitable harm includes loss of sensation.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and it is only people who are unfamiliar with whole genitalia who think they are ugly. The great Renaissance artists carved and painted many, many, men, heroes and gods with foreskins when they could have hidden them if they'd wanted.
The diseases that circumcision is supposed to protect against are very rare (penile cancer) or easily treated by other means (urinary tract infections). In theory of course, ANY disease of a part of the body can be prevented by cutting off that part. This is the only one where we actually do it.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
