I chose recycling due to the fact that not enough people do it! Recycling is the process of making or manufacturing new products from a product that has originally served its purpose. My views on recycling is that it is very important if we want to benefit our planet for the future and this will make the earth a better place for my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In 2013, the UK recycled 43.9% of waste. The government are trying to increase the rate of recycling by placing different coloured bins in every home to make people recycle from home. DEFRA, have a goal of reaching 50% of recycled waste by 2020.
In 2011 Barnsley recycled a record amount of waste. 64%. That increased by 21% from 2010. This percentage is still increasing in 2014/2015 which is good for Barnsley and our enviroment for future benefits. The reason recycling is improving is because of the 4 colour bins and a white bag, (grey, blue, green, brown and a white bag for paper.)
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
