Federalism does not put too much power in the government. The government is made up of state-elected representatives and multiple branches to keep each other in check. Giving all power to the people and having a direct democracy is too impractical. Citizens can oppose and reject the things that the government establishes.

Leviticus 18:22King James Version (KJV)

22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

Proverbs 6:16-19King James Version (KJV)

16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. (Psalms 12:6-7)

Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

(Deuteronomy 4:1-2)

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. (Proverbs 30:5-6)

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. (Jesus Christ, Son of God) (Mark 13:31)

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (Revelation 22:18-19)

I am very firm in my belief that God exists. I also believe that the Bible is His true, holy Word. I believe that He, using men as His tool, wrote it. And that is what it says in the Bible. What would Christians do without the Bible? It is the foundation on which we place and build our faith. If we cannot believe the Bible then we are truly lost.I just presented you with what God has to say on the matter. God didn't create gays. He created the people. People, by their own nature are sinners. Man laying with man and woman laying with woman is a sin. Killing innocents is a sin. He states both things clearly.

Here's the thing. I don't support hate, on either side. I don't think people should discriminate what other people do. It isn't our place to judge what other people believe or how they feel or the things they do. AS LONG AS THEY DON'T HATE AS WELL. It can be said on both sides. I think it is completely fine that someone has the right to say they are one gender or another. It isn't my place to say they can't. I don't think it's fair that I am forced to hide that I think it's wrong and against God's word. I shouldn't have to fear that people will call me hateful because I don't support same-sex marriage. It's not hate, I just don't believe in it. Do you know how often I hear people use my God's name in vain daily? People blatantly stomp on my beliefs, yet I get called names for being more conservative. People aren't fixing things. I understand that there are people saying cruel words and acting even worse, but hate is still hate. Whether you feel right or justified, IT IS STILL HATE. I wish more people would understand this.

This is why we have representation based on population size. It's not an exact science, but having a direct democracy would be too impractical. Nothing would ever get done. The people elect those that they feel can get the things they want done. I believe there is no better way to represent each state more efficiently and fairly.

Without a strong central government there would be no unity in the states. With no unity our country would be vulnerable to dissension within the states and from outside. This may lead to civil war and the invasion of foreign powers. We already saw how well a weak central government played out with the Articles of Confederation.
