I think you are taking this out of the context the debate creator intended to convey, as well as the message that Loudacris was trying to make that this should be a shared burden.

When the ball was put on women to go out and use the pill, they did it and without knowing the long term side effects. No one did. Why? Because it can take decades for long term side effects to be discovered. That is why they are long term side effects.

Not everyone is going to use this new birth control, and saying it can be "enforced" is extremely shortsighted. Enforcing birth control would require making everyone in the United States okay with this type of birth control. There are multiple religious sects within this country that don't condone any form of birth control but abstinence.

This is also more than just a pill. All forms of male hormonal contraceptive are being researched, from the pill to injects, to a device similar to an IUD.

We also need to look at the fact that Positive side effects may be discovered. There are always going to be things that, no matter how deeply we research something, that we will not discover until said things implementation.

The point is that soon, I will have a choice to take the pill myself. I can be responsible about the fact that I don't want to have kids anymore. I don't have to worry about having a child and becoming a burden on society as deeply. Condoms can have goals. Your partner can forget to take the pill. With both partners taking the pill you would be able to ensure further that you would not be having a child.

This sounds like equality for men. I can understand not wanting to use it, but you shouldn't actively try to find excuses to bar its option from America altogether by listing the only bunk scenarios you could discern.

In modern society it seems that all of the responsibility is able to put upon the women in the relationship for contraceptives other than condoms. Making a pill that is available to men could help relieve some of the pressure upon women to have to use the pill. Men may be afraid of side effects, but women have had to deal with the side effects of birth control since 1960 in the united states. If women are already having to deal with these, we men are hypocrites to say that we can't share the burden of responsibility.

The point is that right now, there is no regulation. Without any, your listed scenarios will continue to occur. Just like drinking during Prohibition, people are showing that they are going to continue to get prostitutes. Prostitution is has been around for millennia. Until the hall of the Vestal Virgins was taken down (which was the last church in Rome before it fell) by religious extremists of the time, prostitution was available.

When the Vestal Virgins church/brothel, whatever people are going to call it, was destroyed, prostitution was stymied.

When the government goes in to help with any issue, there are going to be cases that fall through the cracks. It is unfortunate and sad. However, there will be individuals that WILL be helped if and only if the government steps in.

Here is the formula I see:

No government regulation= 100% losses on the issues

Government involvement= Government being able to save some people.

And besides, if the government makes prostitution legal for 18+, and regulates brothels, and finds one using minors in an inspection, that brothel gets shut down. The children would be returned home, etc. When a woman can say openly that she is a prostitute without fear of going to jail, she will be able to be more open about what is wrong where she works.

I have to disagree. Sex with people that have an STD increases the risk of catching an STD, not having sex outside of marriage. For instance, if man A and woman A have sex, and woman A has Herpes, man A can catch Herpes. If neither party have one, there is no risk.

This sounds more like an argument for religion, not for whether or not prostitution should be legalized.

That was the initial purpose of the FDIC: Bailing out banks that run out of money and themselves file bankrupt. If you had an account at a Chase, for example, and had $100,000 in it when Chase goes bankrupt, the FDIC steps in to handle all of the affected branches/regions, or the entire company to ensure that the common man doesn't take upon himself the entire burden.

FDIC insurance was never made to bail a bank out of debt, but was instated to cover the loss of funds within a customers account. My account, your account, etc. It is there in case the bank fails to have the funds you have within your account, and it covers to $100,000 to $250,000 depending on the type of account.

It is also nice to see that their is a candidate that doesn't believe in launching campaigns that target the other candidate. These campaigns only go to make the voter feel more on edge about their decision. Sen. John Sununu has only spent $335,000 in the 2nd quarter of 2008, while his opponent has spent $1.3 million mostly on advertising. Candidates should come back to the issues at hand instead of concentrating on why you shouldn't vote for the other guy. Tell us why we should vote for you.

Sen. Sununu also voted for putting into place (one of only 6 republicans to do so) an act that removed the "time limit" for people to report discrimination within the workplace. These types of issues can be sensitive, and difficult for someone to talk about. Giving them a time limit to muster the courage to bring up a situation can be unfair.

Sen. Sununu is also supporting and actively backing legislation to help better the world around us as well. It can be easy to get tunnel visioned into thinking only about "American Issues", but Sununu's support of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) is pushing forward the help that these developing countries need. This country has a lot of benefits that developing countries do not, and we need to be on the ball with assistance to those people also. We are all in this together.

Sen. Sununu is for keeping the prices down at the pump. I don't think there is anywhere in America that isn't seeing a spike in fuel prices, and Sen. Sununu wants to put into affect an energy policy that will lower prices, and concentrate on developing fuel types at home. If this comes to pass, we won't be so concerned with foreign oil.
