I agree that online debating is more interesting than classroom debating.
Now on to my points,in online debating, people can say their views as they like that they do not dare say in front of the other party or is too shy to share their view in front of the audience. This gives them more confident and will dare to speak up more points than before.
Also,by having online debating, people have more time to have their stand without have to worry about time constrains. It is due to time constrains that people could not finish their opinions. When there is a time constrain, the speakers feel nervous inside although they do not usually show the expression on their face. When they are nervous and they see that not much time is left, they tend to rush to finish their speech, thus worsening the situation and made more mistakes than ever. This will lead to some loss of points of what the speakers wanted to say, thus losing out to the opposite party.
However, through online debating, there will be no time constrains to worry the speakers, thus making the speaking a smooth and perfect one.
Also, through online debate, we can show videos or pictures as our evidences for our views. As during classroom debates, we are not able to show evidences therefore a lot of the audience will ask"Where your evidence?" or"Do you have any proof?"However through online debates, evidences can be shown so more points can be spoken out.
I would like to rebutt on showing expressions for debates. For debates the points are more important than facial expressions. The points alone is enough to influence the minds of people. If facial expressions is needed, then use web cameras.
