I agree with your thoughts on the economy, but the status of a country's military does not depend on only the amount of people they have. USA's military has more advanced weaponry and still have less people. The US has more funding and resources, which makes their military much stronger than China's. I also disagree with China's political position. Even though many countries followed in their footsteps and became communist, communism is a bad thing. Therefore, China had a negative effect on other countries, which leads people to see that China has a negative influence on the world. These two things are crucial for which country becomes the next Superpower, and China fails to meet these stable positions.

The United States will be the future super power for these reasons.

1. Economy Winner- China

China's growth GDP growth rate percentage is greater than the United State's, with a peak of 11.9% in 2007.This is more than the U.S's GDP growth rate peak of 4.4%, which was accomplished in 2004. China continues to grow its economy and bring in more money. China has always had a higher GDP than the United States because they produced many goods and services. Additionally, the United States has a higher external debt than China, as of 2017. The U.S's debt is about $18,624,000 , while China's external debt is approximately $1,562,000. This shows that China has a significantly lower external debt than the U.S. External debt shows how much a country relies on other countries. The United States is more dependent on foreign countries than china.

2. Military Winner- USA

Although China has more militants, the United State's technology for the military has more advanced weapons compared to China's military. One example of this is that China only has about 260 nuclear weapons, while the United States has around 7,200 nuclear weapons. Also, the United States runs on a larger budget than China. The USA's budget is approximately $692 billion. China's military, however, only runs on about $100 billion, which makes it harder to access more better technology or weapons that could eventually be beneficial. In the Chinese government, there are approximately 3,353,000 militants. In the United State's military, there are only around 2,227,200 militants. Although the Unites States is outnumbered, people wise compared to China, the U.S has more resources, technology, and funding.

3. Political Winner- USA

The United States is a federal republic, meaning, it has a president, federal courts, and Congress, that share powers China, on the other hand, is ran by a semi-presidential socialist republic run by a single party. The United states has 2 main parties that contribute to who goes into the power of being the president. These main parties are the Democrats and the Republicans, and there are also a few more smaller parties that can contribute. China only has 1 party, the Communist Party. Citizens do not have a choice when it comes to voting, and are forced to go with the government's decision. Also influence on other countries go into a political status of a country. The United States has given other countries about $31.55 billion in financial assistance this year, which is called foreign aid. China has given a far less amount of money compared to the U.S, which effects their influential position on the world. The United States is a key for many countries and their financial state.

I disagree with this statement for many reasons. The Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings caused around 226,000 deaths, which is much less than the 28 million deaths that were estimated for those fighting in the war. It stated in your argument that millions of people would still be alive if the US did not drop the bomb, but only about 226,000 people died, which is far less than millions. Also, the Japanese were most likely not to have fought with only bamboo spears, and probably something more fitting for a type of situation like war.

I agree that the USA's bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the right things to do because many deaths were saved, even though many were taken, from the bombs. Also, after the bombing on Nagasaki, Japan surrendered, and the war ended. Without the United States taking action of the situation, the war may have stretched many years after it initially ended.

The USA did the right thing by dropping bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Dropping the bombs were beneficial mostly to stop the war. President Truman stated that it was worth it to drop the bomb to prevent “many thousands of American troops that would be killed in invading Japan”. Truman was pushed to make this decision because he knew it would stop the war and many troops from dying. Even after the United States dropped a bomb on Hiroshima, Japan did not surrender. But, after we dropped the bomb on Nagasaki, they then surrendered. This shows that even after the first bomb, that killed many, Japan was still determined to fight in the war. This also brings us to the conclusion that without the bombs, the war, long enough, would have gone on even longer than it did. These reasons show why the United States did the right thing by dropping bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

I agree with what you are saying and that the U.S should not be worried about Kim Jon-Un creating war with us. All that is happening between Kim Jon-Un and Donald Trump is talking, no actions are happening. Neither the U.S, nor North Korea wants war to happen because North Korea's government is in a weak state at the moment, and war will just disrupt it even more.

I can see how you think we should be threatened by the fact that North Korea has conducted another nuclear missile test, but that does not mean that they are going to fire at us and create a war. North Korea are focused mainly on surviving at this point, not trying to bomb the U.S . Although their nuclear weapons might be extremely powerful, our technology is more advanced, and can do more damage then theirs.

The U.S should not be concerned about North Korea and Kim Jon-Un for many reasons. One reason is that nobody wants any war. North Korea's main goal is to survive, and war or direct conflict from the U.S could put the country in a bad state and make surviving a much greater problem. Another reason that the U.S should not be concerned about North Korea or Kim Jon-Un is that what we are seeing are just words, and not any war, or even action taking place. Although Donald Trump has expressed his harsh words and feelings to Kim Jon-Un, nothing really has happened. Lastly, this type of situation has occurred in the past. North Korea and the U.S has been in an armed conflict in 1994, but nothing like war happened. These reasons explain why the U.S should not be concerned about North Korea or Kim Jon-Un.

I agree that the 5 members of the Security Council should lose their veto powers because countries like Iran, who is not part of the council, barely have a say on topics that could benefit their country. Veto power only limits the capability the UN has to help the world improve and stop anything before major damage is created, which has already happened. URL:

Even though the 5 members have been in the organization for 70 years, that does not mean that things should not change. The 5 Security Council members have vetoed hundreds of times since they joined the council, pushing their limits and privilege. Countries like Syria are limited to what they can say and do to help their country.
