But asking the person to pick of the rock forcefully makes him choose whether or not he's going to or not. The person might of looked at the rock 20 minutes before and thought about picking it up, but that's free will. When the guy with the gun asks the person he is forcefully making him think of an answer of what he is going to do. There is no way out of making a choice. Name a way out of making a choice? Even you said there is always the possibility of the choice. So if you don't do it there will be consequences. Forcing you to make a decision
Removing the person doing the forcing then no force would be involved? We are talking about someone forcing someone, therefore 2 people have to be involved. So you taking out the person with the gun isn't even followed this argument. But no matter what the person has to choose whether he is going to pick it up or not. There is a choice. Once the person with the gun asks that question, he is forcing the other person to make a decision. No matter what in that persons mind they have to decide if they are going to pick up the rock or not. It's a conscious thought that if asked will be and your mind and you will make a choice. If you didn't pick it up, that's a choice. And if you did, then that is another choice. So technically they would be forced
The definition of a Christian is "a person who adheres Christianity". Which means they would follow Christianity, in which Christianity goes by the bible. And most Christians don't follow it the way it should. They interpret how they want the religion to be, so technically these people can't even consider themselves christian
You aren't understanding what I'm saying. You are being forced in making a choice. There isn't anyway out of making a choice, you either pick up the rock or not. No matter what you are forced into making a choice whether you are going to do it or not
You also have to put the outcome of the situation in mind. You had the choice to pick the rock up or not. But if you didn't pick the rock up you'd be shot. The person behind the gun knows you want your life. So by giving him a choice to pick the rock up or not, he's forcing him into making the choice to live. Which by definition he would be forcing him to do something
It's not that people "settle" for a different life. Some people are just happy with an easy going predictable life. It makes them happy. Life is all about doing what is best for you and what you want to do. Some people see an average life as a better life than you being a millionaire. As long as they like it what should it matter to anyone else?
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
