A survival instinct is extremely helpful to survival, and not having one is directly detrimental to survival, therefore lifeforms with a survival instinct tend to survive (and therefore exist) more than the ones without. Hence, it is a given that most life in the universe probably develops a survival instinct or dies out. Due to the extreme obviousness of this, one could also safely assume that you are retarded in all likelihood.
