Hey. It is foolish to not believe in alien species. Astronauts have not traveled all over space; in fact it is majorly unexplored. For talking's sake, let's say that aliens are real. Astronauts are very unlikely to come across another race in the universe (just like aliens are unlikely to come across us. Nonetheless not impossible.) simply because of the grandeur and size of the universe. It is more likely that life has developed elsewhere than not, life developed here so why not elsewhere? The human race, at the moment, just cannot ensure that the entire universe is explored thoroughly.

To answer your original question, I don't know. We can't know for sure, as there is no concluding evidence to decide that they exist or don't. I personally believe that aliens exist, but there is no way to know for sure. I don't pretend to be an expert on this topic, but I am passionate and interested in it. You seem nice, and hopefully I have at least made you think about your opinion, but if you disagree then be sure to say why.

I agree with your points. I understand that it may be morally wrong and that it would never work in a realistic world. All I am saying is that I am confident it would lessen tragedies. Best argument yet though.

Not really because you can be a human without being a parent but can't be a human without being a human.

I agree wholly that the quality of life would be lessened without the challenge of risks and mistakes. However I do not agree that a young person's life should be gambled with for the fear of failing a risk or making a tragic mistake. No-ones life should be compromised, let alone a child's.

I imagine that the large majority would meet the basic criteria, but hopefully the test would weed out the people who would be totally irresponsible.
