Big one here, also very commonly asked.

I personally go with the Xbox 360.

It really depends on what kind of games you play.

If you play family oriented games, then go with Wii.

If you like more serious games, then Xbox 360.

360 also has a ton of shooters, so if your into shooters (like I am) then go with the 360.

I personally think the Wii is a gimmicky gamecube 1.5. It doesn't have the horsepower to hold out for long. It's momentum will not last long, simply because the games that are coming out for it are games that are way too similar to the games that are included with the Wii, a ton of sports games (more than the average amount on each console), some silly games (Balloon Pop? You serious?). Sure there are some better exclusives coming out for it, but how many Mario's are we going to get until we get sick of the brand along with Super Smash Brothers? Sure they might be fun, but they are all just the same games with a few new features. Any games that do come out for both 360 and Wii, it will be dumbed down in both controls and graphics/sound (Guitar Hero & Mono anyone?).

If you want to get your parents or grandparents into gaming, then definitely the Wii. It will be easy for them to pick up and probably enjoy.

Overall, I just can't take the Wii seriously, it's too kiddy for me.

I enjoy the exclusives for the 360. I enjoy my HD with 5.1, in ALL games. It's not that I only go for HD visuals and 5.1, it is just overall a great feature to have in each game. It immerses you far more than 480p with Dolby Pro Logic...

Another reason, if I want to sit back and relax after a hard day of work or if I'm out with some friends, I don't want to be swinging my arms around to play a game. I'd rather sit back, put my feet up and relax. You can do that with the 360.

The multiplayer is great for the 360, the lobbies are great (the other people playing it, not so great). The friend list is great compared to the Wii's buddy codes. My gamertag is C1trousMexican, not some 12 digit number that I have to memorize (remember ICQ?).

I see a friend playing Call of Duty 4. Great, let's join. Pop the game in, select his name, Join game. Voila, I'm in his game. Not as easy to do with the Wii (if the game even supports multiplayer) from what I hear.

I'm done for now, getting late and I'm tired.

I'll continue debating if people respond to my comment :)

BTW, I'm not a 360 fanboy. I just choose my investments wisely.

If I had to pick between Wii & PS3, it would be PS3.

Wii would always be a last selection for me.

About Me

"Just a full-time student, majoring in Computer Science. I love gaming, both PC and console, any types of games will work for me. I love to debate about anything really. I'll admit when I'm proven wrong. But if something is opinion based, you will rarely sway my opinion. I like to keep an open mind about things. Laid back, I stay away from drama... Anything else, feel free to ask!"
