Yes, Johnny was justified to kill Bob. The Soc's were putting in danger both Johnny and Ponyboy. Since Johnny is a good friend of Ponyboy he wanted to defend him. The Soc's were drunk and may have not known what they were and maybe they did but even if they did they were still putting in danger 2 people. Ponyboy could have died and I think that when Johnny killed Bob he had let out all of his anger and he mostly did it to save Ponyboy.
