I respectfully disagree with you because the cops would've probably believed bob rather than Jhonny or Ponyboy. Besides, the socs would've probably killed Ponyboy eventually. Also, the socs attacked greasers for no reason like they hurt Jhonny. I also disagree because if either of the boys came to the police and the police believed them they would put Bob in jail for a few days and then Bob would come for his revenge against the people that put him in jail.
Yes, Jhonny was justified. He killed someone who had done just as bad or worse than he had. Jhonny was doing the only thing he could, if he didn't kill Bob Ponyboy would probably be dead. Bob had previously hurt Jhonny and beat him up unfairly. He was protecting Ponyboy from any further damage and if Jhonny hadn't been brave they would probably BOTH be dead. It was also like self-defense because the socs jump greasers and hurt them for no reason like they did to him and they would probably have killed him too. Here is the proof: "I had to. They were drowning you, Pony. They might have killed you. And they had a blade... they were gonna beat me up...." On the other hand, killing is something really bad to do he could have just hurt him but then Bob would go with the cops and have him arrested. I think that Jhonny was in a tight spot were he had to choose whether to let something bad happen(Killing Bob) or something even worse for him (Pony and him getting killed).
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
