They can be used as a tool for hunting, defense, and - in a worst case scenario - they can be used to barter. (A 9mm and a box of JHP for that there case of canned food?)

Would you really want that kind of life? Spending every moment wondering if you will live to see dawn. Having to kill creatures that were former members of society. Would you be able to live with yourself knowing that you just killed what was once your neighbor, or even your family?

Would you be able to kill fellow human beings (Because people will try to kill you, be it for your food, supplies, guns, etc.)

Not to mention the fact that for a zombie apocalypse to occur, billions would die. Chances are, you would too.

Now, let's say that all this does happen.

Do you have a gun?

Do you have access to a good source of supplies (And don't say Walmart, because most people would say the same (Imagine a Walmart crowded with people, many of whom may be infected, and all of whom are fighting for their lives.) )

The same can be applied to some men. Does that mean that we should just dump off everyone and get rid of the army because some people of a certain gender may not be able to do something?

While some women are able to meet the absolute physical requirements for front-line combat such as carrying a wounded soldier, throwing grenades or digging a trench in hard terrain, most are not.

No matter how strict the gun laws, if a man is absolutely sure that he is willing to kill, then no law will stop him.

This is because he has already determined to break a law in killing/maiming someone.

I personally believe that letting everyone have a gun would actually bring down gun violence, and crimes in general.
