It depends on the case. The syndrome could have a positive effect when it gives the child a feeling of being taken care of which is a very important factor in child development. On the other hand, when a child is poisoned by the parent because of the proxy Munchhausen syndrome it's necessary to separate the parent from the child.

The decision for an administrative measure must not be based on the syndrome but the behavior of the parent.
