I believe that the show is real because there was one episode where it showed a girl eating toilet paper...think about it idk about you but I don't think I could get paid enough to eat as much as she did on the show. And some girl ate friggen nail polish and there was one with a girl licking and eating cat fur. Who would fake that? I would never do any of the stuff thoes people on that show for money. Its all so gross. I bet there are people out there that are messed up and have "strange" addictions. I mean I'm addicted to cleaning my ears with q tips like everyday 2 to 3 times a day...people are weird. And who knows if some of the people that are on the show didn't just see the show and realize they need help but don't have the money or whatever to get help and they think 'hey this show could help me' so they call. But than again you'll prolly never really know unless your on the show or know the person personally. And if you think about it they most likely wouldn't be on this site answering this cuz they'd know already...owell.
