(Rashid al-Din) I believed in the Mongols and their postal system so much that I, a famous vizier, offered to take this financial burden off their hands and take care of certain parts of it so they can focus more on other things, like their army.

(Rashid al-Din) I wrote my book, "Collection of Chronicles," to discuss great civilizations in the world. I wrote about areas like China and India, and I also wrote about great people like the Mongols. I wrote about many years of their history and their successes.

The Mongols did a lot to protect merchant travelling on the Silk Roads. They provided new infrastructure and security to make it safer to travel on.

(Rashid al-Din) The Mongols were fierce warriors. My illustrations show them on their horses and with their bows, being great military personnel.

The Mongols had the largest contiguous land empire in history. It spread from the heartland of Europe to the Pacific Ocean(around 11 million miles).

The Mongols saving people like doctors, artisans, etc also contributed to higher communication and mixing of cultures.

The Mongols had a very powerful army. Their soldiers focused on skills like speed and archery. They also had very good military strategies.

Their empire did not stay large for very long. After the death of Genghis Khan, the empire split into different groups and were not as powerful.

The Mongols were not huge fans of architecture. They had a couple cities like Karakorum that were great capitals, but they never built huge cities. They mostly stayed in yurts which were able to be moved.

The Mongols possibly spread the plague. Since they were the ones to re-invigorate trade, it is partly their fault that it spread.
