You're completely right when you say "All of this can be easily dismissed by anyone".
Seriously though, coincidences happen in life. In no way do they prove the existence of a higher power or the existence of a soul.
How does your evidence show that these two things exist? You say that it must be experienced, but can you please elaborate on that to help out those who have not experienced such events?
After seeing a "John McCain for President" banner advertisement while submitting a new debate, I just had to ask the question.
Do we want to be debating politically diverse topics while looking at biased advertising? Does this put CreateDebate in a sensitive and awkward situation?
My favorite beer is a local brew: Kiltlifter.
It comes from Four Peaks Brewery in Arizona, my favorite local brew-pub, and a tall glass of Kiltlifter can definitely help ease into the weekend.
As far as mass-market beer, I'd have to side with those who choose Guinness. Guinness for Strength!
Litchfield - I was referring to Kidem's argument:
"Come on if we didnt have religion then we wouldnt have wars..."
I was disagreeing that religion is the only reason people go to war. And I also disagree with your statement that land wars are only due to people having a different religion.
For example, were the Native American Indians driven off their land and killed only because they had different religious viewpoints than European settlers? Or did the immense riches of the newfound land have something to do with it? I think the amount of potential money to be made had a large role to play.
While I agree that religion obviously contributes to its fair share of wars in the world, it is not the ONLY reason people go to war with one another. Now, it may have the most wars under its belt, but there are far too many reasons people go to war (land, economy, food, water...) to just lump them all into one anti-religion argument.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
