To coincide with the school vision of "creating stewards of a just and sustainable world..." - the only way this world could be just is if people were prompt, and being on time reflects commitment and displays an effort to create a just world.
Well stated sw1012, people will be able to identify us easier, despite the "uniformity" that is supposed to occur. Living in Dhaka, we do have a high chance of getting mugged and showing the public where we go to school is like showing them a symbol of class or status.
Iman, it is the responsibility of those individuals who have been warned about inappropriate dress to get their personal acts together. Punishmemts for breaking DRESS CODES should be enforced upon those who regularly break the dress codes than enforcing uniforms for an entire school body due to the lack of respect displayed by only certain students.
You have to wake up every morning and put something on anyways, for normal people, it shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes. Or just do it the night before. Siblings may share clothes, but with uniforms they wouldn't be able to tell the difference so they will siblings will be sharing clothes anyways.
No, AISD should not require any of its students in grades 6 and above to wear uniforms. However, if they do want to start this, they should enforce uniforms for kids from Pre-k thru grade 5 because they don't change their own clothes anyways, and they need someone to put on what the wear every morning- cause they don't care.
As far as the middle and high schools are concerned, uniforms should not be required as the students "styles" will decrease, both in their clothing, and in their work styles and other school styles because they won't be motivated since everyone will be the same, what is the point of going to school to look like others? Just stay at home and look like your parents.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
