the limit of the quantity of the medicine and number of doctors available is not exactly a limit of medical science itself and what it can do
one reason why people expect too much of medical science is because a large majority do not understand the limitations of medical science due to their lack of education. it is only logical to assume that not all diseases can be accurately diagnosed or treated, however, recent successes have blinded a large majority to that logic. there are many reasons why most people are not educated in the field of medical science and hence are unaware of its limitations, to name a one, a large number of people do not have the mental capacity to understand a subject as knowledge based as medical science. in light of the huge successes and breakthroughs in medical science, people would think that there this no end to the long list of possibilities brought about by medical science, when in actual fact, they could not be further from the truth. to someone who doesnt understand the field and why they were able to achieve success in the first place it is only natural to expect more, even if it is beyond what is reasonable.
Although spoken language is important in order to communicate effectively in person, the use of language in the written form is often more important than spoken language in terms of assessing one's qualifications. For example, in the Singapore education system, from primary school up-till one's university education, students are constantly being assessed in the form of written examinations and their future depends on how well they can show their knowledge to the examiner through the use of writing as a medium. Some may argue that in schools, there are also oral examinations and presentations that also count towards their final assessment. Be that as it may, the bulk of the student's results still rely on their ability to write well and hence, language in its written form is more important.
