I understand your point AdePrio, but what do you think about the vague borders between adjusting to these developments and the violation of privacy?

Indeed RoosHU. Many people do not know about the technicalities and privacy settings on social media and internet usage, not to mention what to do to with it. Do you think anything can be done at a global or governmental level to increase privacy?

It is important for people to be able to keep private and work life separate. Just because private lives are more vividly shown online (and thus unfortunately available for everyone, eventhough it is not their business at all to peak in unknown lives), it does not mean that HR managers may decide that private lives of applicants can be included in the evaluation of hiring or not. In interviews applicants wouldn't be bragging about what they did last weekend, though they would like to do that among friends.

In my work experience I've seen that the representatives of the organisation, such as sales managers (for contact with prospects), account managers (for contact with customers) and HR managers (for contact with employees) really influence the image people of an organisation. Losing one of those people could break the organisation. Therefore personal branding would contribute to the organisations profits. But, it would definitely also be an advantage for yourself, so in my opinion it is not an either or situation.

International experience or studies are beneficiary for the person, since the labour field would entail much more areas than just your own country (many countries have a very high unemployment rate so international experience for those people is very much an advantage). However, the international aspect is decreasing in being a competitive advantage, as more and more people have experience in an international working field nowadays. The significance of this advantage is therefore decreasing as well.

Digital communication is not preferred over face-to-face communication. Digital communication should be (and stay, even in futuristic 3000s) an addition on human contact to maintain friendships/relationships. Society has become very individualistic and people know a very hardworking life, so it is nice to have some digital communication, otherwise it would be impossible to stay friends with people who live far away.

I agree. Tattoos already had the 'negative' and bad-ass image before media became this big. The media nowadays just strengthens this image, but on the other hand the media shows so many 'positive' ways of having tattoos as well.

I agree, social media is an addition on real social life. Especially staying in touch though not be able to meet each other is a valuable advantage of social media.

The corporate world have the biggest influence on society, so if they would collectively (SMEs and MNOs) work on sustainable goals in society they would influence the consumers as well. Sustainable businesses could be the solution for all environmental crises. Though they have the power to make these changes, I do not believe they would actually make it happen as they always keep commercial purposes, profits and market share in mind.

Online dating has been a logical step towards a more connected (digital) world. Society has individualised badly and so many people live such hard-working lives that it is very hard to meet new people. Dating online gets people out of their own little bubble and brings new opportunities. Though, initiating contacts online is acceptable, I think keeping entire relationships online without ever having seen the other person is not the right way to go (such as in Catfish).
