Iraq should be blamed as they were the initiators, and ignored attempts at a diplomatic and non-violent solution to the conflict.

Iraq was the first to deploy troops, amassing soldiers on the border with Kuwait around July 20, and Iraq was also the one that struck first, moving his troops into Kuwait, annexing Kuwait. Kuwait put up little resistance to this attack, showing that they did not prepare for violence, and thus wanted to resolve the issue in a non-violent way.

Furthermore, efforts to mediate the conflict by Egypt and Saudi Arabia were completely ignored by Iraq, while Kuwait showed willingness to participate in meetings and negotiation. Iraq has accused Kuwait for practicing "Slant Drilling", stealing precious old resources from Iraq. Kuwait has acknowledged this partially and has offered a reasonable compensation, that was accepted by the international community. However, Iraq was the one that continued to pursue the matter. Iraq has also accused Kuwait of lowering oil prices through the overproduction of oil, thus affecting Iraq's economy. However, Kuwaits decision to overproduce oil was also made to assist in the rebuilding of their own country's economy. Therefore, Iraq should understand the situation that Kuwait was in, and so demanding that Kuwait stop overproducing is an unreasonable demand.

This shows that Iraq had no reason to invade Kuwait, so Iraq should be blamed.

If social media allows us to communicate and socialize with people that we would not normally be able to, (e.g. people from overseas) then does it make us more sociable?

I belive that this only proves that social media hakes us more social. These "Victims" want to meet new people and socailize with them, so they meet them. The fact that they become victims of a crime is not relevant

Work and socializing are the same thing. In this fast paced world, it is important to be able to socialize with the peopl with you are working with

Through these videos of cruelty, netizens do become more social in the sense that they talk about it. Communication is important to become more social right? So when people talk about these events, start discussions, come to their own conclusions, we make new friends in the process and become more social

Most people do use these games to connect socially with others. Sharing reward items, achievements, these can help gamers become more social on facebook through playing games

Observing people around us does not nessacarily nake us more social. We become social when we make an effort to communicate with people. If you suddenly tyr to start a conversation with someone on a train, it is more likely that they think that you are crazy than to chat with you. It would be easier to communicate with others through social media, therefore making us more social.

I agree that face-to-face interaction is important. However, face-to-face interaction is becoming harder to achieve. Events need to be organized, people need to spend time away from their work. Not many people would be willing to socialize face to face as some think it would be just "wasting time" as they can do the same thing online.

Spending more time on social networking sites may not make us less social. Through our time on social networking sites, we may make new friends or start new discussions. This would make us even more social instead of having to spend time organize events?

Recently our Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Long, encouraged Singaporeans to start national conversations regarding the growth and development of the nation on popular social networking sites such as Facebook and twitter. This would help Singaporeans come together to help improve our society. Wouldn't that make us more social?
