Well!!! the eyes must be turned towards the big economic giant of the world i.e. the US. One single country with just 5% of the worlds population is contributing generously to the carbon emission to a value as high as 30%. I see no reason why a country embodied with all kinds of resources can't step up and try to reduce its emissions. It was one of the a few countries which refused to ratify the Kyoto protocol and yet again something unfruitful for the environment can come up.
Talking of green technology and other stuff, it must not be forgotten that it all needs huge capital. Coal is one of the major fuel source and for a developing nation not to exploit it, is unreasonable. Some amount of emission can certainly be brought down but not to the extent the developed nations are expecting. It is the duty of the developed world and not just US to led by example and stop forcing others.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
