Wiki definition: In traditional belief and fiction, a ghost is the soul or spirit of a deceased person or animal that can appear, in visible form or other manifestation, to the living.

Saying nothing about the existence of an afterlife, a deceased being cannot take a visible form in the physical plain. They'd need to be made of atoms and so light can bounce off them to our eyes.

It is never "okay" to kill a person, even to save another. You are killing a human being and their potential for good. On the other hand, is it okay to let a person die? No. This is the real world and we can't always do pure good.

I chose the ability/need quote because I think it sums up the benefits supposedly exclusive to Communism without the baggage. I believe the pursuit of self-interest can be transmuted into social-interest by the market. Adam Smith said something like "It's not that Pepsi is nice that I have a drink in my hand, it's because they're thinking about their own interests."

I think Socialism with a market could work. To obtain money from the people according to their ability, a progressive income tax could be imposed where rates are according to financial ability. Sort of like the more you make the more you pay. To disburse the money by need, the same progressive income tax can also include negative tax rates for people under a certain income bracket.

ie. I enjoy the burn from working out but I don't enjoy the burn from a stove.

Semantics. Suffering can lead to good, but to say suffering is good means you either don't know what good means, or don't know what suffering means.

IMO animals are happier in their natural habitat. Even we humans who adapt so quickly still benefit from the open space, green scenery, and natural sunlight. Additionally, wild animals have genes that were naturally selected; not bred by humans. I'd rather perpetuate the need for wild animals and natural habitats than hybridized and inbred livestock on monoculture farms.

Winning Position: Could Communism/Socialism work?
