I think so. Not necessarily because they do more things that are right, but because of the reasoning behind it. A religious man won't steal because god is watching. An atheist won't steal because it's the right thing to do.
(Of course there are exceptions, but generally this is the case)
Bill Nye. Simply because I support his argument. It couldn't be any clearer that evolution is reality. All evidence ever found supports it, except one book. Plus, I don't care much for Ham. I did some research on him, and concluded that he doesn't fully understand the principles of evolution. I can add more evidence if someone wants, but for now I'll leave it at this.
Yes, there are plenty of distractions. So why allow another? If students choose to disobey the rules by bringing a cell phone, so be it. But we shouldn't let students think it's okay to text during class by condoning cell phone usage in class.
The way I see it, teenagers are told to not do three things: Drugs, Alcohol, and Sex. However, only two out of the three are actually bad for you. On the other hand, sex is healthy and good for you. As long as protection is used and both participants are okay with it, then it's fine.
Ever heard of Drake's equation? It is an equation used to estimate the number of extraterrestrial civilizations in our galaxy. The equation contains many subscripts so I won't type it out, but it estimates that there are approximately (and this is still a very rough approximation) 3,500 alien civilizations. However, this small number means that each is about 100 light years away and we will probably never contact them.
