We do not go to school to come home with homework, so why should students have homework?. Students spend 6 hours at school, one would think that this would be long enough to spend time on school work for one day.

At intermediate, students have enough work at school with a busy schedule, without having to go home and do some more, but I think that primary age should at least have reading and spelling because they don’t have such a busy day as us and need to learn more to get ready for all the work at intermediate. If students want to do better with their learning, I think that it should be optional for them to do it.

Homework is not only boring but a lot of students have after school stuff on like, sports practice, band practice or dance, along with other things that we have to do around the house, like doing the dishes, and cleaning our rooms. Sometimes we just don’t have enough time to do it, so why do we have to? Coming home from school and then having to do homework decreases chances of the student to spend time with their family or friends, it also decreases chance of beauty sleep and it doesn’t give the students time for a part time job.

Some parents and teachers think that it improves the students learning, but after all that hard work at school and sports practice after school, we get tired and don’t concentrate as well. When we don’t concentrate we don’t get any better at our work, so its just a waste of time doing.

Some children may need help with their homework but don’t have any help at home, so they don’t get it done. I think that homework does help for those who get help and not spending to long on it. If students do to much homework they start to get slack, go down on their grades and have bad homework. After doing homework for a long time students may loose interest in their homework and the effect we put into it decreases
