Agreed! Your point is correct. But reason will never make sense to some.

The most reasonable comment I've read to date. I couldn't have worded it better.

In reality there is more support from gun ownership rights groups (Gun Owning Americans) than there is from control groups (Opposed to Guns Americans), otherwise the laws would have been changed by now. There are however a boat load of laws on the books that should prevent these tragedies, but they are not enforced as they should be. Adding more laws that won't be followed will do no good. Banning all guns won't happen.

BUT! Extending waiting periods for more extensive checks and banning private sales without an FFL transfer with check is something the majority of gun owners should agree on. The problem is their fears of the "give an inch they take a mile".

That's besides the point. Some people do live in areas where hunting for their food is essential.

In my opinion the right to be able to defend ourselves shall not be infringed upon. Should a better job be done with enforcing existing gun laws? Absolutely. Should there be a waiting period for a more extensive check? There should be.

Should armed guards be present at schools? Why not, we protect inanimate objects with guns all over, our children are worth more than everything else. it's just my opinion and in the grand scheme of things majority rules. So we will see where we go next
