I believe texting does affect your ability in other areas of communication. Actual writings become shorter, filled with choppy grammar and slang, and often leaves something more to be desired. While I do say that this does not happen 100% of the time, the good majority of teens and young adults who do it, do it to a point where I dont even want to read anymore...(lol, i wrote a whole paragraph perfectly n i text-talk too >:p )

Honestly, I'd rather be completely fatherless, not saying that not having is better than having one, albeit a lousy one. However, I do believe that you can grow up completely fatherless and without any major male role model and still be successful. Take myself for example; I lived the first thirteen years of my life without a father or any fatherly interaction, and those were the essential times a kid needed to be around his/her father, I turned out great(Self-opinion). So yes, as opposed to having a lousy father that would rub off on me and mold me into half a man, I would much rather being fatherless.

This is planet Earth, shared by billions, not just you. If given the opportunity to advance the human race, every person alive should take it; choosing personal gain over advancing the common good is selfish. There's no other way around it. I don't want ot hear "it's human nature to be selfish" or any other lame excuse. The point is we all live together, and if your too greedy and self-centered to care about your surroundings and the individuals around you, your merely taking up space.

Shakespeare is indeed a great poet, and while yes his works are enumerous and well-known; they aren't the most popular reading material. First off if you cant even read the text itself, you cant begin to enjoy it, and then on top of that its hard to ccatch the underlying tone and figure out what's truly going on within the text. I do however suggest that we atleast attempt to read it at one point in our lives, but high school, is not that time.

I agree, in a sense; I believe life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% what you do with it. You are ultimately free in what you do because no matter the circumstances, how you react to outside stimulus and everyday interaction. You can choose to do anything you want for whatever that has happened to you.

Its great that someone will actually admit that they dont know everything. I've read a bunch of these posts and everyone claims they know evrything about Sen. Obama And McCain, and use their false knowledge to bash the other candidate. Im for Obama, his views are very similar to my own, and his plan for education is matched by none.

Obama All The Way.

Yeah jj I completely agree with you on that. Respect is alot harder to gain than money. It's what you do to gain the money that gains respect...the money is less important.

I feel that being well respected is more important than money. . . Yes its true, money can let you gain access to many more things in life, but if your respected in your neighborhood or community you have the people's trust, everyone knows your name, everybody treats you properly. Having a lot of respect is similar to having people fear you, you know that nothing harmful can occur to you, no one would dare do such a thing.

I say Well Respected is betetr.

I agree, I believe Batman is more heroic than Supes. He doesn't necessarily have the powers and the capabilities that superman has, yet he stands for justice, and fights and protects the people. No matter the danger, be it a mad psychotic clown with laughing gas, and a pumped up steriod freak smashing through the city. He uses his mind and succeeds in saving the day... Batman is far more heroic than Superman.

I say it is better to be feared than loved, its a cold world, and if people fear you, then u have their respect and you know for a fact that they wont lash out at you or decieve you. If you have power and respect then people will think twice about disrespecting you and messing with you.

Nation-wise; different nations may love other nations, and there will be peace, but a fight may erupt and they may go to war. However, if they other nation fears you, you'll have peace, but if a fight erupts, they wont even think about attacking you, they fear you.

People-wise; if someone fears me, they wont talk to me any kind of way, they will listen and respect what i have to say, and they wont think of trying to fight me.

[If you are loved, then you have love, but if you are fear, you have power, respect, and the safety of knowing the people around you will not go against you.]
