The rebels In the colonies will be sorely mistaken if they believe that separating from Britain is the right plan. Staying loyal to the king is the best plan that we have in the colonies. Britain has the largest navy and arsenal to fight with. Britain gives us land and money to support us and leaving would show how ungrateful the colonies would be. If we leave Britain we lose major economic benefits and protection that we have been guaranteed by the king and Britain.
The taxes that we pay in Britain to finance this protection and self government are much lower that the people in Britain pay. This strong military and fighting force can be turned on us as quickly as it can help us if we decide that we want to leave Britain. As well as material benefits we have a religious obligation to stay loyal. It is not right to rebel against the mother country.
Our greatest act of patriotism, unlike the rebels who call themselves patriots, is to stay loyal to our king and accept the help and protection that he gives us. This system has been in place for many years before us and should not be thrown away just like this. If the rebels do succeed, we will be left in a mess of argument, disorder, and tyranny. The kings and parliaments control over the colonies keeps them unified and in peace.
