I disagree with you, the Socs were drunk and Johnny didn't have another choice. Johnny did feel really bad and didn't mean to but if he didn't kill Bob Ponyboy would have died. Even though killing someone is bad I think you are wrong and he didn't have a choice.
Yes, Johnny was justified, even though violence isn't good he did it out of self defense because they were going to kill his friend. After Johnny killed him he felt really sorry and couldn't believe it, he also didn't mean to kill him but Ponyboy could have died. Also, the Socs were drunk and they were behaving really violently so Johnny didn't have an other choice
