you can't be judged by your clothing. Nobody can say "Ahh... Look at him/her clothes. He/she is not wearing Adidas. She/He is poor..." Also you don't have to pick a new outfit every day. That would save you a lot of time in the morning so you can get up later or you don't miss the bus.
It may be that there are some hidden dangers but I wouldn't say social media is dangerous itself. You can be influenced by other people and get depressions or something like that if you get negative feedback. But you can protect yourself from that.
So I got my first phone at the age of six because when I was at school my parents were at work so I can communicate with them. I would say my phone is a big part of my life but not the biggest one. However, my friends and my family are the most important persons in my life. It's much more fun hanging out with them than using my phone. Of course I scroll through Instagram and text with people to stay tuned but I think even though a smartphone got many features it takes more than likes to be happy.
