That must be why the Minnesota Twins were the Yankees' opponent when the 2009 playoffs started.
I tip my hat to a real fan, ZombieReagan! To state what you have while being a Red Sox fan is truly admirable. Congratulations for your wins in 2004 and 2007.
I remember that hit and it was a fair ball just as you claim. Unfortunately for you, the Twins were swept in that ALDS and lost all ten games that they played against the 2009 Yankees. It's kind of a weak argument to claim that the Yankees paid the umpires, though, when you have no evidence to present. Again, the last resort of the uninformed to cast aspersion.
When the Yankees didn't have the highest payroll back in 1996 and did win the World Series, did you make this claim then? What about all the other years that the Yankees did not have the highest payroll (there were many), did you say anything then about the team that did have the highest payroll? In fact, the only reason that the Yankees have the highest payroll today is because they won 3 straight World Series. Try it sometime and see how success affects your payroll.
Hey, PrayerFails, the Atlanta Braves were in the playoffs for what their fans claim to be even longer (they missed in 1994 due to the strike). Similarly, the Celtics and Lakers have dominated the NBA for most of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 2000s. Did you complain when the Celtics won 8 straight NBA championships? Do you have any clue about how the Dallas Cowboys dominated the NFL playoffs for most of the 60s, 70s and 80s? It is understandable that you make no mention of these facts since it would undermine your argument.
If the Yankees have bought most of their players as you say, why did the 2009 Yankees have a 25-man roster where 14 of those players were developed in the Yankee farm system? That number was tied with the LA Angels for the most in MLB. It is always easy to make uninformed derogatory statements, isn't it?
Hey, manly28, show me a MLB team that has not had 10 players at one time or another who used PEDs. Unfortunately, at least 95 percent of all ML players (in the late 90s / early 2000s) used PEDs and it is evidenced by the lists of players who have been named e.g. the Mitchell Report. Several of these lists number in the 100s. The last resort of the uninformed is to cast aspersion since they have nothing else to go on.
I am probably a good person but I haven't taken the time to fill out my profile, so you'll never know! |
