Misterguy, I'm honored that you would respond to my posting. I'm sure we will agree and disagree on many points. I look forward to future debates. As for this one...

I find it amazing that you equate gun control with a fantasy world. Reality, in human rights, means, to me, that before I am to exercise my right to form a well regulated militia I need to have proof that my inalienable rights are being infringed upon. When I am told that my views are against state views, I will pull my gun. When I am told that I have no right to seek my own happiness, I will pull my gun. I guess that is a fantasy world. I would never expect that a socialistic government headed by Obama would want me to disagree with its views. For instance, I wouldn't expect a government to demand that I accept junk science to dictate my life through mandates of power consumption and energy/carbon trading...

What that means to me, as a gun owner, is that your reality would rather see a government control of all other rights before gun control. simply put, in the worst case scenario take away the liberal rights of people (speech, religion, assembly, redress).

I'm not worried about the government in the sense that you mentioned. I'm worried about pundits that speak for a "greater good".

I appreciate that you do not care about the constitution. It shows that I might have mis-placed my belief that you are one of the rational, well educated people that I would like to debate. Good day.

NO! In case you didn't hear....NO. Global warming is not happening. Why has the Global temperature fallen over the past six years? Wow. Why do the global warming pundits not include the past six years in their computer model qualifications? Simply put: Al Gore's Mythology is busted!

Many people busted Al Gore and his jet-setting high-flying carbon burning-terrorist cell. Yet, the money has not lead the purveyors of modern truth (money mongering media-types) to speak the TRUTH.

My ace is a confidential discussion held with a world renowned geo-physist who, point blank said, "Humans have had nothing to do with the current global climate change." Dr. R. further explained that the current global change is a natural occurance.

So, an ice age is coming. Take it on faith, if you will. The rational will survive. Honestly, I hope the environuts chain themselves to trees. More oxygen for me.

Kudos to JoeCalvary and Misterguy for a very cool topic. Misterguy, I appreciate your position, but...the second ammendment is the call that prevents nihilistic views from capturing the main stream. Our identity depends on the ability to keep a strong front. An armed populace, dedicated to its own survival, keeps many nefarious bands away.

Simply put, nuclear power is the use of nuclear fission to create heat. That heat is then transferred to steam which turns huge turbines that produce electricity. Wow, a steam engine is born. Now, the process does require natural elements from the earth: uranium. Yes, virginia, it is natural. Let's talk about waste...From a nucluear power plant, two types of waste are produced. 1. Warm water. In modern reactors, this warm water is cooled and used as a coolant for the reactors (recyclying). 2. Steam: what a terrible world we would live in if our power producers produced super heated water...obviously I'm joking. Steam is nothing more than water. 3: Depleted rods (of radioactive material). Once the fission process has run its course on a supply of uranium it has run its course. The material is still radioactive. However, a multi-billion dollar holding site was built many years ago. It is safe. It is the natural repository for all depleted rods of our nuclear plants sourses.

So. What is the question? As is, our nuclear power plant infrastructure is safer than anything anyone could offer to compare.

Nuclear equals the new clear...

OK, Does anyone edit anymore? "marrige" "State" come on, for such a serious question, one would expect care and concern in order to discern the truth.

First: Marriage is, in all of the truest sense, a contract between two individuals. A legal document does not ensure that the agreement will be forever upheld. People fall out of love all of the time. Why does sexual orientation, in the land of the free, change the definition of a contract? Marriage is a contract; why else would the courts be bogged down by disputes of property, wealth, and future holdings?

Second: When two people want to have a contract with each other, why should everyone else care about the purpose of that contract or the sexual orientation of the contractual partners? We, in the U.S.A. look away when companies contract each other to form conglomerates. Why do we care so much about people in love that we would show our prejudices?

Third: The human spirit should be without bonds. Let individuals be individuals. An atmosphere of growth will yield much more than the atmosphere of "let's wait and see".

If people want to bind themselves to a legal document, let them. Don't make it an issue of orientation because the end result is the same effect.
