We have no way of knowing the status of their economy because their leader is unreliable! We have to take a step towards protecting ourselves without fearing that every move we make will cause a war.

Iran's religious mindset that is against western living is already causing enough tension to give them reason to hate the United States. The list could go on and on naming the tensions between two power hungry countries, so is it worth it for us to put ourselves in danger by giving them the upper hand with such a powerful weapon?

1 point

There is no assurance that we are safe from Iran's unpredictability. Their theocratic rule justifies their goal of shutting out an modern/western influence that comes from the United States. Therefore, there is an extreme incentive for Iran to have nuclear power against any Western force, so we have to mediate the power that Iran can gain against us.

There is no way we can enforce Iran from using their religious rule against us if we allow them to maintain their nuclear power. We have never and will never be able to trust Iran because their government system is too unstable to predict the next move. And on top of that, we will never be able to combat their financial wellness because of theocratic rule being able to hide their economic status in bonyads. We have to protect ourselves and increase sanctions on Iran.

Iran is run by theocracy, but falsely leads its people into believing they are a strong part of a democracy that does not exist. Just this year, Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, lead his people into a pandemic with a blind eye. Information was constantly withheld from the citizens of Iran because of the theocratic rule that supreme leaders maintain in this twisted government. How are we supposed to trust the people of Iran with so much nuclear power, if there is no precedent of a person in power in Iran maintaining a healthy relationship of information between the people. We cannot enter a deal with Iran, where they gain so much potential to hurt us, while there is more distrust than confidence in their government.

Rules are put in place so that officials are reelected and limited to the time that they can serve in specific positions. Each position has enough time to enact change upon a nation but not enough to where it is a tyrannical rule that can never end.

The federal government can never become stronger than the people want it to be because they make up the federal government. The different branches check themselves and slow the process of laws being made so that they are each carefully considered. Corruption cannot make it past the people that it would be inflicting upon itself.

Creating a federal government gives citizens a greater opportunity to impact the entire nation rather than just the states.

Taxing is inevitable regardless of where it comes from. As a growing new country, we need to be supplied with money. That will either come from the states taxing their citizens to supply a local militia or from the federal government taxing everyone for a military. The benefit of a military is the guarantee that they are fighting for the betterment of the entire country. But when a state is taxing for a local militia, there is no guarantee that they are not funding to support a civil war and tear down all of the success that the states have so long fought for. A standing military is purely American and supports the safety of all civilians instead of singular groups.

The protection of the citizens is still in the power of the states. The federal government is checking the states from taking away the individual rights of people and visa versa. Reference powers are given to the states from the exclusion of anything on the enumerated powers list. The states are left the right to protect the citizens and are able to dispute the federal government when they see best fit. The constant checking vertically, through states and federal government, and horizontally, through branches, keep the system from becoming corrupt.
